Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of Samruk-Kazyna, met with Ozhan Huseyin, EBRD Managing Director for Central Asia and Mongolia.

The parties highlighted successful cooperation in the modernization of the Almaty CHP-2 and the integration of West Kazakhstan’s power grids into the Unified National Energy System.

The meeting also focused on new avenues of partnership, with particular emphasis on the development of green energy.

EBRD representatives once again emphasized the progressive nature of Samruk-Kazyna’s procurement rules. The Fund remains the only institution outside the European Union whose procurement system has been officially verified by the EBRD.
