The event is organized in support of the annual World Investor Week 2022 program of the World Federation of Stock Exchanges (WFE). The main goal is to popularize trading on the Kazakhstan stock market, as well as to increase the level of financial literacy of potential investors on the eve of the IPO of national companies of Kazakhstan.

“Every year, the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, within the framework of the World Investor Week campaign, conducts events to improve financial literacy. This year, on the eve of the IPO of national companies, we decided to hold several events in the format of the “KASE FEST” fair, the purpose of which is to familiarize retail investors with the work of the stock market of Kazakhstan, with financial instruments and products available on it. At the fairs, anyone can get acquainted with Kazakhstani brokerage organizations and the Stock Exchange, learn how to open a brokerage account and test their knowledge on an Exchange simulator in the KASE mobile application”, - Alina Aldambergen said, the CEO of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).

The first fair was held in KIMEP (Almaty) on October 7, 2022. At the fair, the visitors met with the management of Samruk-Kazyna JSC and JSC NC KazMunayGas. The experts of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange held master classes. The leading brokers of Kazakhstan told the  participants about what an IPO is and why it is carried out, which an investor’s income is generated from for an IPO, what the risks of investing are, with what amount you can start working on the market, etc.

“The purpose of such meetings is to explain information to the public simply and easily about plans and approaches to transfer the assets of the Fund Group to the competitive  environment. Of course, our main focus is on IPO candidates, i.e. large Fund companies that will be brought to the stock market. We are convinced that the “life” of companies after the IPO will change qualitatively, because they will need to follow strictly the high listing requirements, implement internal and external processes in accordance with the best international practices, interact pro-actively with the investment community, including retail investors, constantly improve the level of corporate governance, conduct their activities transparently and publicly, strive to maximize benefits for all their shareholders”, - Dastan Adihodjaev said, the Director of the Privatization and  Assets Restructuring Department of Samruk-Kazyna JSC.

“As you know, the Samruk-Kazyna Fund will soon put up for sale the shares of JSC NC KazMunayGas through an IPO. The trades will be held on two Kazakhstan exchanges: KASE and AIX. As of today, the decision on the price at which each share will be offered has not yet been made, we will inform you about this later. At the same time, all shares will be sold at a single price. I would like to note that the upcoming IPO will be a good opportunity to buy shares of KazMunayGas. However, you should make the decision to purchase the stock yourself, based on all the benefits and risks, as well as your financial situation”, - Marat Dikanbayev says, the Director of the Financial Department of JSC NC KazMunayGas.

Visitors of the fair took advantage of the unique opportunity to participate in online training trades on the KASE securities market in the KASE Mobile application, which can become an indispensable assistant for those who decided to try themselves as an investor for the first time. The Exchange simulator is a project to improve financial literacy, which the Exchange has been running since 2008 for students. In recent years, participation in the project has been carried out through the KASE Mobile application. In 2022, the Exchange finalized the functionality of the application, and now any novice investor, before entering the market, can first participate in virtual trading, so that in the future in real trading to make fewer mistakes.
