The Samruk-Kazyna Fund announces the launch of the Gender Equality Program to increase the share of women in the management of the Fund Group companies.
By December 2023, the average proportion of women on the boards, boards of directors and supervisory boards across the Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies should reach 20%, by 2030 - 30%. These plans are fully in line with the global trend for gender equality.
They also meet the international ESG principles, where G is governance, i.e. corporate governance. A high proportion of women in the management of Samruk-Kazyna companies will increase their ESG indicators, and hence their attractiveness in the eyes of international investors. In addition, according to the World Bank study, gender diversity on boards of directors increases the profitability of companies.
On Friday, the program “Gender Equality” was presented by Gibrat Auganov, the Managing Director of Samruk-Kazyna for Public Relations, Social and Labor Relations and Occupational Safety, as well as Elmira Karimova, the Head of the HR Department of the Fund, at the online seminar. The honorary guest of the meeting was Raushan Sarsenbayeva, the Head of “Alliance of Women’s Forces” of Kazakhstan. In total, the online seminar gathered about 150 listeners.
Elmira Karimova called on all female managers of the Samruk-Kazyna Group with managerial experience of at least 5 years to participate in the training program for future top managers, which will be held in October-April. To do this, they must write to the e-mail shakhzadin@skcu.kz by October 5. Participants will need to fill out an application, which will be sent in a reply letter, and also write a motivational essay on the topic “Can a woman of the XXI century be an effective manager?” in Kazakh or Russian by October 10.
