From October 10 to 14, representatives of Samruk-Kazyna JSC and JSC NC KazMunayGas will meet with residents of Almaty as part of a campaign of informational and explanatory meetings. 

The representatives of Kazakhstan broker-dealer organizations and stock exchanges AIX and KASE also participate in the event. 

Experts will introduce to the residents the progress of the Samruk-Kazyna privatization program and IPO of portfolio companies, including key information about the first IPO candidate - JSC NC KazMunayGas, as well as answer interested questions to citizens, including how and where it is better to purchase shares, through which brokerage companies, how to protect from scammers and other questions. 

As Yernar Zhanadil, the Managing Director for Development and Privatization of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, stated earlier, the Fund decided to fix the minimum guaranteed amount of dividends of KazMunayGas shares for three years after its IPO. 

“Our local market is developing quite well. This is facilitated by the development of financial technologies, digitalization of financial institutions’ services and, probably, in general, the increase in financial literacy of the population. The rapid growth in the number of brokerage accounts is encouraging. Therefore, we still want to bring the company to an IPO by the end of this year”, - Yernar Zhanadil said. 

Recall that in February this year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his speech at the Samruk Business Forum, noted three main principles of the denationalization policy: excluding the appearance of private monopolists during privatization, contributing to reducing the burden on the budget by selling assets into private hands and increasing the contribution to the national economy with a specific economic return.  In total, more than 30 informational and explanatory meetings will be organized in Almaty, during which participants will learn about IPO mechanisms as an alternative source of income. Today, in the period from September 16 to October 7, 2022, such meetings with the population, company employees and employees of production facilities have been held in more than 60 cities across the country with coverage of more than 100 thousand people.
