A regular informational and explanatory meeting of experts with Kazakhtelecom JSC employees on privatization and IPO of Samruk-Kazyna portfolio companies was held in Astana.
 
Recall that a special delegation consisting of representatives of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, banks, brokerage organizations and stock market specialists held meetings with the population, employees of companies and employees of production facilities in more than 60 localities of the country since mid-September. 

 
Similar informational and explanatory meetings with employees of territorial divisions of the largest telecom operator of the country were held in various regions in September. The October meeting covered employees of the capital subdivision of the company. In total, more than a hundred employees of Kazakhtelecom took part in it – 30 people offline and more than 100 people using online channels that have long been used by the company to organize operational feedback with its team. The main speakers of this meeting were representatives of the Fund’s companies that are candidates for placement: JSC NC KazMunayGas and Kazpost JSC, as well as employees of Kazakhstan stock exchanges AIX and KASE and broker-dealer organizations.
 
During the meeting, employees of the telecom operator got acquainted with the implementation of the privatization program and IPO of the Fund’s portfolio companies, having received comprehensive information on the first IPO candidate - JSC NC KazMunayGas. At the same time, experts revealed the mechanisms for generating income from the purchase of securities and warned about the potential risks associated with stock trading.

 
“The employees of Kazakhtelecom, whose initial placement for the public by subscription through Kazpost and on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange took place in November-December 2006, know full well how the company’s activities change dramatically after its IPO and minority shareholders appear as part of its owners”, - Berik Bitabarov, the Chief HR Officer, said. – Kazakhtelecom has been working for a long time according to the highest standards, corresponding to the best international practices, constantly transforming the company, improving both management and production processes, carries out its activities as transparently and publicly as possible. We have no doubt that the privatization and the offer of shares of other portfolio companies of the Fund on the market will activate the same processes in them, which, ultimately, will lead to an increase in the well-being of their investors, which you potentially are”, - he added.
 
Renat Bekturov, the CEO of the AIX exchange, noted that since the beginning of its work in the fall of 2018, one of the main goals of this structure was to establish the domestic stock market as an accessible platform for all Kazakhstanis. For this purpose, brokers use advanced developments of the telecom industry in their activities.
 
“Almost two years ago, AIX launched a simple and affordable Tabys mobile application with a low entry threshold - from five US dollars, it is easy to understand even for a novice investor. Through this application, it will be possible to apply for participation in the IPO of JSC NC KazMunayGas and in all subsequent placements of national companies of Kazakhstan”, - Bekturov assured.
