Almassadam Satkaliyev, the CEO of Samruk-Kazyna JSC at the expanded meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported on the results of the Fund’s activities for 2021 and implementation of the instructions of the Head of State.

The consolidated net profit of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund in 2021 increased by 146% compared to 2020 and amounted to KZT1 trillion 515 billion. The production parameters of the Fund Group have improved, such areas as the production and transmission of electricity, oil and gas transportation, container transit and telecommunications have shown steady growth. 

Almassadam Satkaliyev reported on the key tasks set to the Samruk-Kazyna Fund as part of the reform. 

According to the New Strategy, the priorities of the Fund are defined: 

- reducing the share of quasi-government in GDP by bringing portfolio companies to IPO/SPO, while maintaining a controlling share in strategic assets; 
- investments in the real sector, infrastructure development of the economy, support for domestic business; 
- removal of barriers to access to the Fund’s services and infrastructure; 
- ensuring transparency of procurement with minimization of the human factor; 
- transparency and accountability of the Fund to the public; 
- socially responsible pricing. 

The Head of the Fund also spoke about priority projects, including the provision of drinking water to the western regions of Kazakhstan, projects in the field of gas supply and electricity, modernization of railway transport.

Measures are taken on direct support for small and medium-sized businesses, business partnerships are established for large investment projects and development of import-substituting industries. 

It is assumed that the implementation of the new strategy will attract about USD8.2 billion of investments for 3 years, create at least 10 thousand jobs and launch 24 new production facilities.
