Almassadam Satkaliyev met with Nikolay Podguzov, the CEO of the Eurasian Development Bank on February 24, 2022.

The parties discussed the implementation of 11 urgent investment projects, noting that there is “potential for the development of cooperation in all these areas”.

As Podguzov noted: “EDB experts predict high dynamics of economic growth in Kazakhstan. In this regard, the Development Bank is interested in participating in the implementation of a number of projects, including in the field of water supply”.

“Successful joint implementation of large, mutually beneficial projects will have a significant impact on the future sustainable development of the republic,” the Head of the Fund said during the meeting. 

In addition, a meeting was held with Dmitry Konov, the CEO of SIBUR PJSC.  

Within the framework of the agreements, commissioning works have been started at the polypropylene production plant with a capacity of 500 thousand tons of products per year. The enterprises will employ at least 550 local residents. 
Also in the implementation of the project for the construction of a plant for the production of polyethylene, which will produce world-class products. 

In general, cooperation with SIBUR will create a new and modern gas chemical complex, which will saturate the domestic market, as well as compete with global producers, fulfilling the instructions of the Head of State to open new jobs. 

The Head of the Fund also met with Riyad Yusuf, the Managing Director of Goldman Sachs. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation, identified priorities for further cooperation. 

It should be noted that one of the world’s largest financial conglomerates, Goldman Sachs, previously received a mandate to prepare the national oil and gas company KazMunayGas for the IPO.
