These plans were discussed at a meeting of Almassadam Satkaliyev, the CEO of Samruk-Kazyna JSC and Kairbek Uskenbayev, the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan.
The joint projects of the Fund and the Government included a plant for the production of aluminum wire rods, development of the tungsten deposits “Severny Katpar” and “Verkhneye Kayraktinskoye” and the deposits of polymetallurgical ores “Shalkiya” with the construction of an enrichment plant.
As it is known, at the end of January this year, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Government to conduct the in-depth analysis of all industries and identify competitive sectors and on its basis to develop specific projects and attract investors. A large-scale work was carried out, as a result of which several major projects will be implemented by the Government together with the Samruk-Kazyna Fund.
The Fund notes that after implementation of all projects, Kazakhstan will reduce the volume of imported goods, especially construction.
In the future, the number of similar projects of Samruk-Kazyna JSC will be increased. To implement this strategically important task, Almassadam Satkaliyev proposed to Kairbek Uskenbayev to create a joint working group. The Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development supported the proposal.
