Samruk-Kazyna Group Signs US$4.29 Billion Worth of Agreements with Chinese Companies

As part of the President of Kazakhstan’s official visit to Shanghai, Samruk-Kazyna Group signed 19 agreements worth a total of US$4.29 billion, aimed at expanding cooperation with leading Chinese companies in digitalization, energy, transport, telecommunications, and industry.

The following agreements were signed in the presence of the President of Kazakhstan:

  • An Agreement on the Acquisition of Technological Solutions and Equipment between Samruk-Kazyna JSC and Huawei Technologies;

  • A Cooperation Agreement on the Guiding Principles for the Development of the Data Center Valley between Kazakhtelecom JSC and Hengtong Group;

  • A Memorandum of Understanding on the Development of Electric Vehicle Infrastructure and the Application of Artificial Intelligence between Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Freedom Holding Corp., the Astana City Administration, and Geely Auto Group.

  • An additional four documents were signed during the Kazakhstan–China Business Roundtable:

  • An Agreement on the Implementation of Phase II of the Aqyl Energy project between QazaqGaz Aimaq JSC and Goldcard Smart Group;

  • A Heads of Terms Agreement on Cooperation for the Localization of Smart Water Metering Devices between Samruk-Kazyna Invest LLP and Goldcard Smart Group;

  • A Tripartite Framework Cooperation Agreement between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy NC JSC, Transtelecom JSC, and Huawei Technologies;

  • An Investment Cooperation Agreement on the Development of Agri-Hubs Incorporating Digital Technologies between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy NC JSC and SPSI Cloud Port Development Group Co., Ltd.

The signed agreements create new opportunities to attract advanced technologies, implement joint investment projects, and further strengthen the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.
