During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation between Samruk-Kazyna and Marubeni. They noted the successful implementation of joint projects in the nuclear energy and aviation sectors.
Particular attention was given to expanding cooperation in renewable energy and advancing the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM). The parties also discussed a joint initiative to generate and monetize carbon credits under the 1 GW wind farm project in the Zhambyl Region, which is being implemented by Samruk-Kazyna JSC in partnership with TotalEnergies.
Marubeni Corporation is one of Japan’s largest trading and investment conglomerates. Founded in 1858 and headquartered in Tokyo, the company employs approximately 50,000 people and operates a global network of around 130 offices. Marubeni is active across a wide range of sectors, including energy, infrastructure, industry, and renewable energy.
