The next meeting of the Samruk-Kazyna Public Council, chaired by Bolat Zhamishev, was held with participation of two portfolio companies of the Fund, Samruk-Energy and KEGOC. The companies informed about the work done to ensure reliable operation in the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026.

Kairat Maksutov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Energy JSC, noted that repair work at power plants is carried out in accordance with approved schedules, which allowed the current heating season to start on time.

Fuel supplies to power plants are also carried out according to the schedule. The subsidiary company, Bogatyr Komir LLP, ensures uninterrupted supply of coal to power plants in accordance with the concluded contracts. Today, coal reserves at the power plants of Samruk-Energy JSC amount to 1,504 thousand tons against the standard of 791.5 thousand tons, and fuel oil reserves amount to 33.6 thousand tons against the standard of 23.6 thousand tons.

Samruk-Energy JSC is ready to ensure stable operation of the stations in the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026.

Nabi Aitzhanov, the Head of KEGOC JSC, said that the company had completed the main repair campaign, formed an emergency reserve and ensured the readiness of personnel and equipment so that the NEPS would work during the winter period without failures.

In 2025, KEGOC plans to repair 577 facilities with a total cost of KZT3.8 billion. The work has been completed at 511 sites, which is 89% of the annual plan. Repairs of lines and substation equipment will be completed by the end of October, for buildings and transport - in November.

According to the forecast balances, with an expected maximum load of 17.6 GW and an available generation of 16.7 GW, the deficit is expected at 0.9 GW in capacity and 1.1 billion kWh in electricity. It will be offset by imports from adjacent energy systems.
