Nurlan Zhakupov noted that Qatar is an important political and economic partner of Kazakhstan in the Middle East and the Fund is building trusting and friendly relations with this country.

In March 2024, Kazakhstan and Qatar signed an intergovernmental agreement on the joint implementation of major investment projects, including the construction of gas processing plants, the development of trunk gas pipelines, and hydro and thermal power facilities. The projects are already at the implementation stage.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the role of the Kazakhstan-Qatar Business Council (KQBC), co-chaired by Samruk-Kazyna on the Kazakh side and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the Qatari side.
