The Fund held a strategic session with participation of members of the Board of Directors of JSC NC KazMunayGas and international experts in the field of global energy — Mr. Bob Fryklund, Vice President of S&P Global, and Mr. Simon Sjothun, Partner, Director of the London office of Rystad Energy.

The session was headed by Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC NC KazMunayGas.

During the event, they discussed global industry trends, prospects for the development of the petrochemical industry in Kazakhstan, the results achieved, as well as technologies, including AI, to improve the efficiency and sustainability of KMG work.

KazMunayGas is a key asset of the Fund’s portfolio (46% of the Fund’s asset value). In 2024, the KMG group of companies provided 27% of the total oil production of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 57% of the volume of transportation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and 80% of refining of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
