Energy Security Scenarios to Have Been Studied at the Samruk-Kazyna Strategy Session

Astana hosted a strategic session on “Energy Security Scenarios 2025: Energy and Artificial Intelligence” organized by Samruk-Kazyna JSC.
Shell acted as a key partner, presenting current energy security scenarios in the context of the growing popularity of AI use.
As Ali Al-Janabi, Senior Vice President and Chairman of Shell in Kazakhstan, noted in his speech, the driving factors in developing the 2025 scenarios include: - the unstable geopolitical situation, the growing need for reliable and affordable energy, climate change issues, as well as the rapid development of technology.
All scenarios are developed based on in-depth analytics and undergo rigorous external and internal reviews.
The session was attended by Nurlan Zhakupov, Chief Executive Officer of Samruk-Kazyna, and the management of the portfolio companies of the Fund.
“We strive to ensure that Group companies not only adapt effectively to global changes, but also set the vector for sustainable development, including by taking into account new technological challenges such as Artificial Intelligence,” - Zhakupov said.
Shell is one of the strategic partners of the Fund in oil and gas industry. The company cooperates with KazMunayGas, a portfolio company of Samruk-Kazyna, within the framework of the North Caspian, Karachaganak project, CPC and geological exploration projects. In addition, the parties are also implementing other social initiatives.
