Samruk-Kazyna JSC has completed the deal on transferring the block of shares of Qazaq Air to a consortium of strategic investors. The consortium included Central Asia Aviation Holdings Limited (a member of Aviation Holdings Group) and Kazasia HoldingsLimited.

The official ceremony of transferring the shares took place during the state visit of To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam to Kazakhstan.

In addition, at the Kazakhstan-Vietnam roundtable, Vietjet Air and Qazaq Air signed a strategic partnership agreement - a new airline Vietjet Qazaqstan was established based on the Qazaq Air platform.

Meanwhile, Sovico Group and VietJet Air, with their extensive experience and competencies, will be involved in the management and operations of VietJet Qazaqstan.

“Expansion of the route network in the region will strengthen transportation connectivity and create new areas of economic growth,” Nurlan Zhakupov, Head of Samruk-Kazyna, said.

Vietjet Qazaqstan will operate a fleet of at least 20 Boeing 737 aircraft. At the event, Qazaq Air and Boeing signed a Customer Services General Terms Agreement to support the future fleet. Boeing will provide comprehensive services, including software solutions, spare parts supply, technical support, as well as pilot and engineer training programs.
