The parties discussed key aspects of the partnership. The EBRD participates in major projects of the Fund, including projects in the energy, mining, oil and gas, and logistics sectors. The bank also plays a key role in the project of connecting the electricity grid of Western Kazakhstan to the Unified Energy System of the country.

“The EBRD is a long–standing partner for us, and we successfully cooperate in various industries”, - Zhakupov emphasized.

The EBRD will also continue to work with the Fund to study international practices for further improvement of the procurement system.

In October 2024, the Head of the EBRD, Mrs. Odile Renaud-Basso, at a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, gave a positive assessment of the Samruk-Kazyna procurement procedure.
