Astana hosted the 13th meeting of the Kazakh-Korean Business Council with the participation of the Heads of Kazakhstan and Korea. On June 11-13, 2024, at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, is on a state visit to Kazakhstan.

The business forum gathered more than 500 participants, including 50 largest Korean companies. As a result of the event, 23 bilateral documents worth more than USD430 million were signed.

In total, during the visit of the leader of Korea, the Samruk-Kazyna group signed 5 documents:

- Agreement on the development of cooperation in the field of combined cycle gas turbine plant projects and combined heat and power generation in Kazakhstan (Samruk-Kazyna JSC - Doosan Enerbility)

- Document on exploring the opportunities of cooperation in the oil and gas and petrochemical industry (JSC NC KazMunayGas - Hyundai Engineering)

- Memorandum on the opportunity of cooperation on investment projects in the field of flue gas purification (Samruk-Energy JSC - Doosan Enerbility - KEPCO Plant Service and Engineering)

- Memorandum of understanding on the safety and development of the supply chain of essential minerals (Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan - JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk - KIGAM - SK Ecoplant)

- Cooperation agreement as part of the Kazakh-Korean Business Council with the Korean International Trade Association (KITA).
