Participants of the Gender Equality Program of Samruk-Kazyna JSC met with the Chairman of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva. The meeting gathered together Gibrat Auganov, the Managing Director for Corporate Governance, Social and Labor Relations and Occupational Safety of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, as well as representatives of the Fund’s Group of Companies, including Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Kazakhtelecom JSC, Samruk-Energy JSC and Kazpost JSC. During the event, important issues and initiatives aimed at supporting women were discussed. In addition, the participants learned more about the implementation of state and local programs dedicated to this topic, actively exchanged opinions and ideas, and alsodiscussed ways to promote gender balance in various spheres of life. GibratAuganov said that following the results of the previous meetings, which took place on September 4-5 this year, the Fund collected proposals from the participants of the meeting to increase economic and social opportunities and submitted them to the Committee on Youth and Family Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In addition, it is planned a project in which women leaders will be able to share their vision and experience with other women on various topics, including motherhood, education, career, financial literacy. It should be noted that achievements of Kazakhstan in the field of gender equality are recognized internationally. According to the World Economic Forum, in 2022 Kazakhstan showed a significant improvement in indicators related to the reduction of gender inequality. Just within a year, the country has risen from 80th to 65th place in the ranking, which includes 146 countries. Recall that at the previous meeting, the Managing Director for Corporate Governance, Social and Labor Relations and Occupational Safety of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Gibrat Auganov said that the Fund was planning to double the share of women in decision-making bodies over the next 7 years.
