On August 4, 2023, Samruk-Kazyna JSC hosted the II Forum on Industrial Safety. The event gathered the management of the Fund, representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the first heads of portfolio companies.

In his welcoming address to the Forum participants, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Nurlan Zhakupov, emphasized: “The Forum was organized in order to unite the common efforts of all portfolio companies in order to ensure the safety of each of the employees of the Fund Group”.

According to Gibrat Auganov, the Managing Director for Corporate Governance, Social and Labor Relations and Occupational Safety of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, at the end of last year, the Fund approved an Action Plan for Industrial Safety for 2023, which contains 38 specific measures in 3 areas:

1. People and increasing the level of safety culture;

2. Ensuring safety during operation of technological equipment;

3. Emergency prevention.

“The process of improving industrial safety management systems in portfolio companies and implementation of measures aimed at preventing injuries and accidents is under constant control of the Fund”, - G. Auganov said.

Representatives of state bodies made reports on the development of state policy in the field of labor protection, industrial and fire safety.

JSC NAC Kazatomprom, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, KazMunayGasJSC, Air Astana JSC, QazaqGaz JSC, Samruk-Energy JSC, KEGOC JSC told about implementation of the “Seven Golden Rules” of the Zero Injuries Concept in portfolio companies.

In addition, representatives of international organizations and companies shared data on world achievements in the field of labor protection at the Forum, including experts from Ajip Karachaganak B.V., Halliburton International Gmbh, North Caspian Operating Company N.V., Finch Global, Gascoyne Resources andABRRAS Training.
