Samruk-Kazyna JSC supported the First ever international Junior Table Tennis Tournament in Kazakhstan

The Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Nurlan Zhakupov, took part in the awarding ceremony of the winners and prize-winners of the International Youth Table Tennis Competition WTT YOUTH CONTENDER ALMATY in Almaty.
“I am very glad to witness the international competition, which is held for the first time in our country. This is a great step towards the development of youth and youth sports in Kazakhstan. The potential of young athletes and their desire to win show that we have a wonderful generation of champions growing up”, -Nurlan Zhakupov said.
The «Alaman» tournament included five age categories and lasted four days. 159 athletes from 13 countries participated in the event.
Kazakhstani athletes won 2 silver and 7 bronze medals. On the second step of the podium, Arailym Sapabek and Dulat Eralhan celebrated their victory in the under-11 category. The bronze medals were awarded to Alan Kurmangaliyev (U19), Aynaz Adilgereyeva (U13), Orynbasar Esmakhan (U13), Zhania Bekmukhametova (U11), Akezhan Erlanuly (U11), Karolina Bondar (U11), as well as the mixed pair of Alan Kurmangaliyev and Sarvinoz Mirkadirova in the under-19 age group.
The Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan became the main partner of the organizers of the large-scale tournament, and the event received support from the unified charity operator of the Samruk-Kazyna group of companies - the Samruk-Kazyna Trust Social Projects Development Fund.

The main purpose of this support is the development of children’s and youth sports and increase in the number of table tennis players in the framework of a charity project. In addition, by the end of 2023, it is planned to hold master classes in table tennis for children from socially vulnerable segments of the population in Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Pavlodar and Aktobe.
