An offsite meeting on implementation of the project “Introduction and development of 5G by mobile operators” was held today.
The Heads of Kcell and Mobile Telecom-Service spoke about the interim results of implementation of the project for introducing a fifth-generation communication network.
At the moment, more than 160 base stations have been put into operation, and Kazakhstanis can already assess the benefits of communication and speed characteristics of 5G.
Communication has been tested at large-scale events such as Digital Almaty, Astana International Forum and Sxodim Fest, where the provided connection speed provided for up to 1 Gbps.
About 400 base stations will be put into operation in Astana, Almaty, Shymkent and Turkestan this year.
For information: In December 2022, a consortium of operators MT-S LLP and KcellJSC became the winner of the spectrum auction and, according to the terms of the competition, the companies must deploy more than 7,000 5G base stations in Kazakhstan by 2027.
