Today, a charity children’s train “Tugan Elge Sayakhat” started on its first tour from the Nurly Zhol railway station of the capital. During the three summer seasons, 600 children aged 10-15 years will visit the iconic places of Kazakhstan and spend an unforgettable vacation on an excursion train.

Nurlan Zhakupov, the Chief Executive Officer the Samruk-Kazyna Fund,Lyazzat Suleimen, the Deputy Chairman of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Heads of the Fund’s portfolio companies, parents and the media took part in the solemn event of the launch of the train dispatch.

“You are going on a big journey. You will visit places with amazing nature and see with your own eyes the most beautiful sights of our country. Having received wonderful impressions, you will return from the trip with a lot of new knowledge and inspiration. Our mission is to give you a happy childhood. May your trip be successful!” - Nurlan Zhakupov said.

He noted that since the beginning of the year, 11 of 20 projects with a budget of KZT1.7 billion, approved by the Foundation for the Development of Social Projects “Samruk-Kazyna Trust” - a single charity operator of the Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies, are dedicated to children and cover more than 18 thousand representatives of the younger generation. These projects include rehabilitation centers for children with special needs, children’s playgrounds, adaptive sports and family yard clubs and much more.

Lyazzat Suleimen in her welcoming speech noted that Kazakhstan has unique natural monuments that are in harmony with historical buildings and modern architecture. “We have amazing places where every citizen of Kazakhstan should visit. A wonderful world of exploring the historical sights of our vast country will open before you. I am sure that a trip to the iconic places of our vast Homeland will be the beginning of new research on the study of historical and architectural monuments”, - she said.

Some of the young passengers are the winners of the essay contest on the topic “I would like to develop my region!” from all over Kazakhstan, and the other part are the children of employees of the production enterprises of the Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies.

Over the years of the project’s existence, thousands of children have spent unforgettable summer holidays on a tourist train. This year, schoolchildren again had the opportunity to visit the most beautiful places of the country for free by taking part in the competition. In total, three such journeys will be organized over the summer – each for 10 days. The route of the first journey: Astana-Nurly Zhol – Baikonur – Turkestan – Almaty – Borovoye resort – Astana-Nurly Zhol. During the trip, children will be able to connect with the history of each city, become friends and discover new talents.

The main goal of the project is the comprehensive development of children, orientation of the child to choose a future profession, familiarization with the culture of our people and study of the native land. The project is also aimed at increasing children’s interest in the world around them, studying the historical and architectural monuments of the country, fostering love for the motherland and patriotism.

The project is implemented with the financial support of the Foundation for the Development of Social Projects “Samruk-Kazyna Trust” on behalf of the Samruk-Kazyna JSC Group of Companies and under the auspices of the National Commission for Women, Family, and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the Social Projects Fund.

For information: the tourist train will spend 3 seasons on the way:

​1. From June 20 to 28: Astana – Baikonur – Turkestan – Almaty – Burabai – Astana;

2. From July 2 to 11: Astana – Baikonur – Turkestan – Almaty – Alakol – Astana;

3. From July 19 to 30: Astana – Almaty – Turkestan – Baikonur – Aktau – Astana.
