Masdar and Samruk-Kazyna to become partners

Today, the management of Samruk-Kazyna and Kazakhstan Investment Development Fund met with Masdar Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi.
The parties discussed the conditions for the joint implementation of a project for the construction of a new wind power plant with an installed capacity of up to 1 GW with an energy storage system in the Zhambyl region.
A Collaboration Agreement was signed during the meeting between the Fund and Masdar, which will be the starting point for further cooperation on the project.
Furthermore, on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum, it is planned to sign the Calendar Action Plan (Roadmap) between the Fund, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KIDF and Masdar, indicating the main arrangements, responsible parties and deadlines.
For reference: Established in 2006, Masdar is the UAE’s clean energy powerhouse. It is active in more than 40 countries and has invested in a portfolio of renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of more than 20 GW. Masdar is committed to achieving at least 100 GW of total renewable energy capacity by 2030.
