Today, a corporate race “Samruk Marathon” dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Samruk-Kazyna took place in the Triathlon Park of Astana. Employees of various companies of the Fund Group participated in this event and the athletics event dedicated to the International Children's Day was held for their children.

More than a thousand employees of the Samruk-Kazyna Group from 22 holding companies participated in the sports action. The races were held at a distance of 5 km (amateurs) and 10 km (professionals). The distance for children was 1 km. About 100 children ran it. The marathon was preceded by a long preparation: for a month before the marathon, its participants gathered every Sunday at the Triathlon Park for training.

“During the month, free training sessions were held for participants and this event emphasizes the value and importance of a healthy lifestyle for all of us. The most important thing is that this marathon will unite two hundred thousand employees from various teams of the Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies and strengthen the relationship between them. Today fans and family members support the runners and thereby expand the scale of the competition”, - Nurlan Zhakupov, the Head of the Fund,said.

The speaker also noted that the events for children within the marathon are timedto the Children's Day. At the same time, Samruk-Kazyna systematically develops mass sports and adaptive sports for special children in Kazakhstan. “Thanks to the support of the Fund, a network of free inclusive and adapted sports sections has been created in 21 cities of the country, more than 1,000 children with special needs have the opportunity to go info 12 sports”, - Nurlan Zhakupov, the Head of the Fund, marked.

Also, the speaker said that Samruk-Kazyna will launch an educational train “Tugan Elge Sayakhat” for children. 600 children from different regions of Kazakhstan will be able to get acquainted with the sightseeing of our country. The journey to historical places will start in mid-June from the capital of Kazakhstan. It will be the end of the patriotic project contest, the winners of which will have to write an essay on the topic “What I would like to change in my region” in Kazakh and Russian. 10-15 years old children from all regions of the country take part in the competition. The winners will visit Burabai, Alakol, Turkestan, Baikonur, Aktau.

In addition, in honor of the 15th anniversary of the Samruk Kazyna Fund, 15 thousand children will be covered by the Road to School campaign this year - the Fund will support 15 thousand first–graders from socially vulnerable segments of the population this year. This was also announced by Nurlan Zhakupov, the CEO of the Fund, during the opening ceremony of the marathon. The project will cover ten regions in which the companies of the Samruk Kazyna Group operate. Lists of children will be provided by local executive bodies.  The set of first–graders will include school backpacks with all the necessary accessories - they will be delivered to the regions before the start of the school year.
