Samruk-Kazyna JSC continues to work on preventing road accidents and reducing injuries among employees of the Fund group of companies.

On May 04, 2023, the company of JSC NC QazaqGaz has launched the ROAD ACCIDENT STOP campaign, aimed at developing a safety culture in the management and use of vehicles.

Considering that one of the means of passive protection is a safety belt, which is designed to hold the driver or passenger of the car in place in the event of a road accident or sudden stop, during the event, the participants were presented with a simulator of a front collision in a road accident.  

For example, the severity of injuries sustained by a person when a car hits an obstacle at a speed of 30 km/h corresponds to a person falling from a height of 3.5 m. In a front collision, the severity of injury rises dramatically with increase in the speed of the car.

The simulator gains the speed of up to 12 km/h, imitating a road accident. Participants experience a low-speed collision, which allows them to realize the force of the impact and the need to use seat belts.

The use of the simulator is relevant due to the fact that according to the UN data for 2020, Kazakhstan ranks 6th in terms of mortality from road traffic injuries.

The campaign has been supported and attended by employees of JSC NC KazMunayGas, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Air Astana JSC, Kazpost JSC, JSC NAC Kazatomprom, JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk.

A number of similar events will be held during Q2 and Q3 2023.
