The Medical Train project has been launched in Kazakhstan: free medical care will be provided to residents of remote regions of the country. This year, a mediator and a lawyer also joined the doctors. It is expected that about 75 thousand villagers will receive medical and advisory services.
Today, the train “Salamatty Kazakhstan” has set off in a solemn atmosphere from the Almaty-2 station. Until December 6, it will operate at more than 120 stations throughout Kazakhstan.
The project is implemented by the Samruk-Kazyna Trust Social Projects Development Foundation on behalf of the Samruk-Kazyna JSC Group of Companies, with participation of the National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the corporate fund JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy - Social Projects Foundation and an information partner - Jibek Joly TV channel.
Thanks to the support of the Samruk-Kazyna JSC Group of Companies, health trains every year enable residents of the most remote stations to receive highly qualified medical care. Only in 2022, 80,649 residents, including 21,867 children, were able to receive medical and consulting services. At the same time, 5,097 people underwent minor surgeries, and 26,587 people received dental care. In total, in medical trains at 150 stations, the number of medical visits amounted to 389,388 times.
Medical teams consist of 35 specialists who perform not only diagnostic procedures, but also small outpatient operations. These are therapists, surgeons, general practitioners, neuropathologists, ultrasound diagnostics doctors, obstetricians, laboratory assistants, nurses, radiologists, radiologists, dentists, otolaryngologists, psychologists, oculists, gynecologists and urologists. The schedule of the medical train has been compiled taking into account the absence of medical centers at remote stations and on the basis of appeals from citizens and government agencies.
- Today is an important day for a large number of people waiting for medical care. Often there are no hospitals in remote villages, and not all residents can travel to the districts. The medical train makes it possible for adults and children to get advice from narrow specialists. The cars are equipped with modern medical equipment, where doctors have the opportunity to perform mini-operations”, -Alfiya Adiyeva said, the General Director of the Samruk-Kazyna Trust Social Projects Development Foundation, during the ceremonial departure of the train.
The medical train will be at each station for 1-2 days. Doctors will receive the population during working hours.
At the initiative of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy, professional and experienced mediators and lawyers will be involved for the first time, who will provide effective psychological, legal and mediation (conciliation) assistance to citizens free of charge. In addition, free consultations will be provided on the protection of citizens’ rights to receive state social support, appointment of pensions, allowances, social benefits and targeted social assistance.
- The main goal of our activity is to improve the socio–economic life of the population, including in the regions where the Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies operates. This year, the first of 7 projects in the priority area of “Healthcare” was the project “Medical trains” with a budget of KZT590 million”, - Alfiya Adiyeva said.
It should be noted that the charitable budget of the Samruk-Kazyna Trust Foundation in 2022 amounted to KZT10 billion. For this amount, the Board of Trustees approved implementation of 43 social projects. As a result, support was provided to 500 thousand Kazakhstanis, including 55 thousand children, and 95 thousand Kazakhstanis living in rural areas.
