Finalists of the Digital Summer program are undergoing an online internship. In total, 41 graduates of Kazakhstan’s universities, who have successfully passed the 4-stage selection this year, are taking part in the internship.

Let us note that the program was developed with the aim of training university graduates directly in the field - in enterprises, factories and offices. In view of the pandemic, it was decided not to interrupt the program, but to transfer the training to an online format. In turn, 21 project participants, who were to undergo internships directly in the field, were also given the opportunity to undergo training within the program.

This year's participants are trained online and fully participate in events, meetings and conference calls. Together with mentors, they implement automation projects, project management, and information systems development.

Each participant is assigned with an individual mentor from among the company's employees. For example, one of the program trainees is temporarily in Novosibirsk, but undergoes an internship in Atyrau, and also works with a mentor to improve professional skills in the field of geology and petrochemistry.

At the end of July, the participants had already completed training from IBM, Kaspersky, Microsoft, Cisco, studied trainings on the topics: ‘Effective communications’ and ‘Modern business analytics in Power BI’.

At the moment, the project team is preparing to host the Hackathon developer forum online. It is planned to use all the technical capabilities, ranging from the use of several online platforms to online mentoring for each of the teams. This makes it possible to attract all specialists from different regions and to combine efforts in holding the event.
