A business forum was held on September 23 in Astana under theKazakh-Chinese Business Council on the topic of: “Astana EXPO-2017 and investments in Kazakhstan”. The event organizers were Samruk-Kazyna JSC, the China Committee for the Promotion of International Trade and  KAZNEX INVEST JSC.

Mrs.Gulmira Isayeva Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr.Wang Jin Zhen Deputy Chairman of China Committee for the Promotion of International Trade, Mr.Zhang Hanhui Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the management of KAZNEX INVEST JSC, representatives of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Astana EXPO-2017 JSC, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan «Atameken» and more than 200 representatives of Kazakh and Chinese companies attended the business forum under the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council.

During the event representatives of Astana-EXPO 2017 JSC presented the Action Plan on preparation to the international exhibition «Expo-2017”-“Energy of the Future», covering issues  related to sponsorship and partnerships, business opportunities, etc., and it aroused keen interest among of China business representatives.

Mr.Yerzhan Tutkushev Co-Managing Director for Development of New Industries presented new activities and investment opportunities of Samruk-Kazyna JSC.  During his speech he emphasized that the Fund has completed  the first phase of transition to the strategic holding model and active investor under Samruk-Kazyna Transformation Programme. 

Mr. Dauren Tasmagambetov Director of Privatization and Restructuring Department of Samruk-Kazyna JSC presented the opportunities  under the Fund’s groups privatization program. He noted that the program is needed to reduce state involvement in business. This supports the state policy aimed to strengthen the national economy by increasing private sector’s stake in it.

Mr. Dmitriy Tkachenko Managing Director of Kaznex Invest JSC in his speech on the subject of «Kazakh-Chinese cooperation in industrialization and investment fields»  told about Kazakhstan’s investment climate and bilateral cooperation under the Capacities Transfer program.

Both sides expressed confidence that the business forum serves to further develop cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in interest of mutually beneficial exchange of views on the prospects of bilateral trade and economic relationships.

Notes to editors: Kazakh-Chinese Business Council was created on behalf of the leaders of the two countries during Nursultan Nazarbayev' s visit to China in April 2013. The purpose of the Council is continuous support of trade and economic interaction, promotion and development of cooperation in various sectors of the economy.
