Almaty hosted the annual forum «State Order 2015» dedicated to the cooperation of «Samruk-Kazyna» group of companies with businessmen of Almaty. Governor of southern capital Bauyrzhan Baibek and CEO of «Samruk-Kazyna» Umirzak Shukeyev visited the exhibition of Almaty manufacturers and national companies. At the ceremony of signing long-term contracts affiliated companies of «Samruk-Kazyna» and entrepreneurs of Almaty inked eight agreements worth 4.3 billion tenge.

«Today, more than a third of 1,500 entrepreneurs of our city cooperate with «Samruk-Kazyna» companies, which gives a tangible economic effect,» governor of Almaty Baurzhan Baibek told.

The head of the Fund said about companies’ achievements in the protection of domestic entrepreneurs and what procurement of national companies expects in the accession of Kazakhstan to the WTO:

«We are introducing 3 mechanisms, which can significantly improve the efficiency of procurement. The prequalification will generate a list of suppliers that produce the best quality products. The categorization of procurement will stop the purchase of the same items at absolutely different suppliers. The centralization of the procurement process will lead to a decrease in the levels of purchases from 9 to 3. In addition, we have specific proposals for the further cooperation development. We are able through our financial institution «Samruk-Kazyna Invest» to assist in the implementation of new production facilities in Almaty focused on the needs of fund companies,» he explained.

«We work hard to increase domestic content in the procurement of our companies. Now there are 19 benefits and preferences in the procurement rules of the fund to support Kazakhstan's business. It is possible to increase the local content from 50% in 2010 to 74% in the current year. We are in constant dialogue with employers on possible improvements of the fund’s procurement,» the director of «Samruk-Kazyna Contract» Serikbek Yelshibekov said.
