NAC Kazatomprom JSC was established in 1997 by the Order of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the import and export of uranium, rare metals and nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants.
Kazatomprom has more than 20 000 employees and 46 affiliate companies within its group. Together with its subsidiaries, affiliates and joint companies, the Company develops 26 deposits on the territory of Kazakhstan, which are combined in 13 mining units using In-Situ Recovery (ISR) method.
In November 2018, Kazatomprom listed its shares and global depositary receipts (GDRs) on the Astana International Exchange (AIX) and London Stock Exchange (LSE). After the IPO the majority share – 85,08% of the total authorized share capital – remains at the disposal of the state-run Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna, while 14,92% is owned by minority shareholders and is in free circulation.
